Effective Ways To Get Rid of Beard Dandruff

by Prachi Awasthi 18 Mar 2023

Everyone is a fan of black, but dandruff keeps making it so difficult to wear your favourite black t-shirt. This dandruff makes it so awkward to walk in front of people. Duh! Keeping all the other seasons aside, winters and dandruff go hand in hand. The loss of moisture in the air makes the hair scalp more prone to dandruff. The skin of almost everyone is home to a microbe known as Malassezia Globosa.

It is a mold that thrives in oily places in many sebaceous glands like your face and scalp. The fungus assists in breaking down sebum, an oil produced by the sebaceous glands. The process results in the acid oleic, which can cause irritation to the skin of some people.  When the process accelerates it causes an increase in dead skin cells. This can also cause issues in your beard growth.

You might notice that your beard dandruff is more prevalent when it's cold and dry and also in humid, hot environments. Beard dandruff elimination requires an approach to eliminate dead skin cells and control the excess oil to stop new flakes from developing. You can also consume biotin-enriched beard gummies that can improve your hair and health and thus prevent beard dandruff.

Have a look at the ways that can assist in getting rid of beard dandruff…

1. Exfoliating

Exfoliation helps to eliminate the dead cells of your skin, such as those that contribute to facial hair loss. It can be the initial step in your routine by using a beard comb. Choose one with soft bristles. Apart from eliminating dead skin cells, a beard brush also helps disperse the oils that are on your skin.

This will make your beard more supple and more manageable. After cleaning your beard, you need to lightly massage the face underneath your beard using a brush. Make sure that you aren't rubbing your beard excessively. This can cause dandruff to get worse. Exfoliation also helps in promoting beard growth.

2. Moisturising

Moisturising

It is essential to moisturise your beard to get rid of dandruff. Moisturising can help rehydrate and shield your skin after washing. However, applying lotions to your beard can be difficult. Hence, you should instead opt for oil for your beard. If you're prone to acne, you can choose a less complicated non-comedogenic oil such as argan oil that won't clog your pores.

Apply your moisturiser right after cleansing. Apply a few drops of oil between your hands, rub it into the beard's skin and work it into the edges of your hair. To prevent buildup start with just a couple of drops. It's always possible to increase the amount if you feel that you've not reached your entire beard.

3. Cleansing

Cleansing

You need to wash your beard the same way you wash your hair. You can apply the same shampoo that you apply to your scalp. But, you may prefer an emollient shampoo that is designed to combat hair dandruff.

You should always look for these ingredients in shampoos that can help in fighting dandruff. They are pyrithione zinc, selenium sulphide, coal Tar, and Tea tree oil. Apply the shampoo to your beard. Be sure to get it into the skin beneath. Give it a couple of minutes before washing it off. Do not use hot water too often as it can cause dry skin and cause irritation to the skin.

Remember that traditional shampoos for your scalp could be too harsh on your skin, particularly with dry or sensitive skin. If your shampoo is dry, you could apply a cleanser specifically for beards. Cleansing the beard assists in boosting your beard’s health, thus, promoting beard growth.

In Closing

Beard dandruff can make you feel irritated. The white flakes on your scalp can even go down to your shoulders. Thus, you can prevent it by properly cleansing, moisturising, and exfoliating your skin. You can even go with the beard gummies that are none other than the “Dapper Hair & Beard” gummies.

These tasty gummies are filled with Zinc, Folic acid, Vitamins, Minerals, Biotin, and Beta-Sitosterol. Consuming them just two in a day can improve your beard growth by vitalising the hair follicles. Additionally, they can also assist in preventing a receding hairline.
